The famous Smiths Made In England elusive automatic wristwatch with the 25 jewel movement with nickel plated finish movement based on the 19 jewel movement. C 1962. Designed by Richard Good and Peter Amis in London and built in Cheltenham. Copied directly from the IWC automatic mechanism of the period. Correctly signed on the movement Imperial. This is is a good timekeeper.
As yet unserviced, this is the case type with the writing on the back. The dial is original with some ageing to the hands and indices that is the luminous type hands and dial markings.
I haven't tested this for waterproofing, as the original smiths pattern crown is still fitted as well as the old case gasket. The case diameter is about 35mm making it one of Smiths larger diameter watches. The case construction is all stainless steel with a clip on back which is nice and tight. Currently not fitted with a strap. Sold as either a trade watch as is , or can be serviced for 450.00.
