Deluxe Smiths English gents 9ct gold wristwatch Austin Motor Company Golden Jubilee model. This watch has been fully overhauled and is working well. Not a mint example but a nice company award watch to the owner. The head diameter is about 30.8mm excluding the crown. The strap is 16mm. The thickness is 10mm. Now fitted with a new crystal, crown and calf strap. Solid 9ct gold SCW stamped case dates to 1954/55, which shows that the Austin Morris variety has a different year of issue. The Jubilee year was 1955. The movement is excellent and original, with a new mainspring fitted for longevity. The case is marked but not too badly at the front showing off its finer details of the case and dial design.
The model number for the Smiths watch is A501, with stepped lugs, and the movement caliber is 12-15, that is 12 line and 15 jewel. Comes with the original box which is in very poor condition, but still proudly shows of its heritage on the front of the brown leather coating.
