This watch was made c 1954/5 with a nice company long service engraving for their Jubilee year in 1955. This example comes with a stunning brown leather presentation case with the gold blocked lettering, and a blank certificate from Smiths. The solid 9ct gold case is of 3 piece construction with the stepped lug design, by Dennison, and has a width of 31mm excluding the winding crown.
Exhibiting the usual Deluxe refinements with the polished escapement, and featuring the Smiths characteristics of a one piece click and click spring, concealed winding wheels, balance with screws and beryllium hairspring in this almost mint movement which is c series number 244508. Dennison ref number 12383, case serial number 601842.
Fully working and keeping excellent time. Fairly worn case and some dial discolourations. Good tight snap on back. Fitted with a new ZRC croc/alligator pattern leather strap in brown.
