Astral Smiths made in England solid 9ct gold vintage gents wristwatch with a standard British Rail employee's details
The case has a 9ct solid gold hallmark for London 1969. The case width without the crown is about 33.3m and like the rest of this English watch is in excellent condition. Fitted with a new arc alligator pattern matt finish 18mm strap with gilt buckle, with the coronet logo form the strap makers
SCW stamped case note that additional S stamp is the Shackman trademark, so presumably actually manufactured by them. The movement is a 60466e caliber , military with hack setting . In this movement as many of the civilian used ones the hairspring is the anti-magnetic variety not the blued steel one. Almost mint condition, some minor marks to the case especially where someone thought the back comes off.
Just serviced, replacement crystal and high quality winding crown fitted.
Comes in the original Smiths red Rexine silk and velvet lined hard hinged box.
A wonderful investment.
